Lionel A Lemay, PE, SE, LEED AP
Lionel Lemay is the Founder and CEO of ConcreteNexus LLC, a consulting firm committed to advancing sustainability in the concrete industry through education, certification, and strategic advocacy. With a distinguished career spanning engineering, business development, and research, Lemay is widely recognized for building high‑performing teams and programs that drive innovation and growth across the building materials sector.
ConcreteNexus develops educational and certification initiatives centered on green building practices and sustainable concrete solutions, while also representing building product manufacturers on matters related to building codes and standards.
In addition to leading ConcreteNexus, Lemay serves as Director of Market Development – North America for the Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC), the global responsible sourcing certification system for concrete, cement, and aggregates. He also advises Climate Earth—the industry’s leading provider of EPD software—supporting codes and standards advocacy and expanding sustainability education across the concrete value chain.
Before founding ConcreteNexus, Lemay held senior leadership roles including Executive Vice President at the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association for 21 years, Managing Director at the Portland Cement Association for 10 years, and Director of Engineering at Hansen Lind Meyer for seven years.
He is a Registered Professional Engineer and Structural Engineer in Illinois, a LEED Accredited Professional, and an active member of ACI, ASTM, and ASCE committees. Lemay holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering and applied mechanics from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Brian P Lemay
Brian Lemay is the Director of Education and Certifications at ConcreteNexus, overseeing the strategy, development, and delivery of the firm’s global training and credentialing initiatives. In this role, he focuses on building and optimizing high‑quality programs that strengthen the skills and technical knowledge of professionals across the concrete industry. He is also a committed advocate for sustainable practices and innovations in the industry.
Brian previously served as Coordinator of Learning and Development at the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association. During his time with NRMCA, he administered certificate programs and managed the deployment of digital training materials for the Association’s education and certification offerings. His work at NRMCA included Learning Management System administration, remote device management, process optimization, and organizational communications—skills that continue to inform his approach to program development and industry education.
Before assuming his current position, Brian also worked with ConcreteNexus as a freelance writer, conducting literature research and translating complex sustainability topics into accessible technical articles. He draws on his experience in this role to advance environmental responsibility, resilience, and long-term performance in ConcreteNexus’ programs today.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and French from the University of Notre Dame and has completed MIT’s Professional Certificate Program in Sustainability, where he studied life‑cycle assessment, sustainable infrastructure systems, and circular‑economy strategies with a particular interest in their application to green building and the concrete industry.
