TECHNICAL WRITING:
ConcreteNexus LLC provides communication services for complex technical topics related to concrete and cementitious products. GRANT WRITING:
ConcreteNexus LLC assists with preparing grant applications for research and development at both federal and state levels. Lionel Lemay wrote a grant proposal for NRMCA and was selected for a $9.63 million USEPA grant for “Reducing Embodied Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Construction Materials and Products.” The project aimed to help the concrete industry move toward its stated goal to reduce the carbon footprint of concrete by half by 2028 compared to 2014 benchmarks, focusing on expanding the number of companies with EPDs. Lemay has also successfully collaborated on several DOE grants.​

SPECIFICATION WRITING:
Preparation of specifications for concrete projects can present challenges. Legacy specifications may limit flexibility for contractors and producers in addressing project demands. Lionel Lemay specializes in developing performance-based specifications for concrete. ConcreteNexus LLC reviews project specifications in PDF or MS Word format and provides marked-up suggestions for meeting performance requirements, including strength, durability, and sustainability.​

EPD VERIFICATION AND LCA:
Numerous projects set carbon reduction targets, often assessed through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). Over the past 15 years, Lionel Lemay has contributed to industry efforts in these areas by helping to establish the North American Product Category Rule for Concrete in 2012 and launching NRMCA’s EPD program. He contributed to methods for benchmarking Global Warming Potential for concrete. ConcreteNexus LLC offers verification services for concrete, aggregate, or cement EPDs and conducts Life Cycle Assessments for products or projects.​

Lionel Lemay has more than 30 years’ experience managing trade associations, including 10 years with the Portland Cement Association (now the American Cement Association) and 21 years with NRMCA in senior management roles.
