The Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) operates as a global responsible sourcing certification system for the concrete sector, evaluating the entire value chain including cement and aggregates supply chains, ready-mix, and precast producers. The certification process assesses companies in four areas: environmental stewardship (such as CO2 emissions, resource efficiency, biodiversity, and circular economy), social responsibility (health & safety, human rights), governance (business ethics, transparency, legal compliance), and economic resilience.
Companies meeting these criteria receive certification acknowledging their adherence to responsible sourcing practices and sustainable construction standards. CSC certification is recognized by green building rating systems, including LEED and Envision.
